USA Daylight Saving Time, War Time and Time Zones
If you are familiar with your chart and the chart produced on my website differs, there are two possible
reasons. Either you need to check the daylight savings time box to produce a correct result, or you have never
seen your relocated chart.
Below is a simplified Daylight Saving / War Time Guide. Use it to determine if your birth city was observing
Daylight Saving Time (or War Time) when you were born. You can also check with your local town hall or search
the Internet to verify both your Time Zone and any time adjustments (such as D.S.T.) that may be necessary.

War Time
1942 -1945 |
DST was consistently applied throughout the US and all US territories from 1942 till Sept 1945. DST
was observed between Feb 9 and Sept 30 during those years. |
| After 1945 |
DST varied by city and state with no formal organization. Your town hall or city clerk may have
information on the observance of DST where you were born. |
| After 1966 |
In 1966 the observance of DST was formalized and is now easily determined in the US. The
chart below outlines the dates DST starts and ends. |
